Marriage and Family Therapist Associate

Amanda Lavorgna is a Marriage and Family Therapy Associate and a Clinician at the agency.  She received a bachelor’s degree in Sociology from Keene State College in Keene, New Hampshire in May of 2014 and a master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Central Connecticut State University in New Britain, Connecticut in May of 2019.  While obtaining her master’s degree, Amanda completed an internship at the Child Guidance Clinic of Central CT in Meriden, Connecticut where she conducted phone intakes to assess clients and refer them to appropriate services, and cofacilitated individual and group therapy sessions.

Amanda worked as a paraprofessional at Mauro-Sheridan Interdistrict Magnet School in New Haven, Connecticut from 2014 to 2016 and L.W. Beecher School of Arts & Science in New Haven, Connecticut from 2016 to 2019 where she assisted with the assessment of individual student needs, helped to provide structure to students in the classroom setting, worked with students in a group setting to accomplish goals and collaborated with teachers and faculty members to ensure the success of the students that she worked with.

Amanda worked at NAFI MST-EA Program as an MST-EA Clinician in 2019 where she provided intensive in-home therapy utilizing an evidence based, Multisystem approach to address mental health and substance use.

Amanda works with children, adolescents and adults who have mental health and substance use diagnoses.
